Sometimes when I meet new people and they find out what I do, they ask ‘What are the reasons to hire a virtual assistant?’ I could tell you in my own words, but I thought it might be better to have one of my clients explain the difference I make to her life.

Background

My client, Louise runs a busy dance school. Classically trained at the word famous Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in Ballet, Tap and Modern Dance, Louise has performed in many of the most prestigious theatres in London including The Palladium, The Dominion and The Bloomsbury. Her considerable experience working in theatre, television and the music industry led her to set up her own dance school in Bromley which is now in its very successful 6^th year.

The Problem

Life was extremely difficult with two small children and a growing dance school. I’d been working all the hours, burning myself out and realised that it couldn’t go on like this. Despite spending so many hours working and looking after my children, I felt like I wasn’t achieving, and I needed help. The main problem areas in the business were day to day planning and managing events. It had got to the point where I couldn’t even find time to buy a birthday gift for a friend.

The Options

Of course, one option was to do nothing and muddle on, but I just didn’t have enough time to do all the work myself. I considered asking one of my dance teachers to help with some of the admin but decided that it would be better to get someone else who had no previous connection to the school and would come without judgement.
